WE ARE LEARNING TO RETELL A STORY:
MAUI AND THE SUN

Maui and his family were upset because the sun was moving too fast. The days were too short to get their chores done. Maui said he was going to catch the sun. His brothers told him he would get burnt. Maui told the villager to collect flax and weave it into lots of ropes. They made a huge net to catch the sun.

They went to where the sun was sleeping and they hid. The brothers pulled and pulled and pulled on the ropes as the sun came up. Maui beat up the sun very hard until the sun screamed. Maui promised not to beat the sun if he went slowly. Maui let the sun go and he went slower and slower.

Everybody was proud of Maui. The people had more time to do stuff.
