MAUI AND THE SUN

Once upon a time there was Maui and the sun. Maui’s family was annoyed that the sun was going too fast. Maui told his brothers he was going to catch the sun. He told the villagers to weave a net.
He and his brothers travelled for 7 days to get to the cave where the sun was.

They put a net over the cave and then they hid. When the sun came up Maui told his brothers to pull. The men pulled and pulled. Maui beat up the sun. He let the sun go when it promised to go slow. Now the days are long.
