WE ARE LEARNING TO RETELL A STORY:

Crinkum-Crankum by Margaret Mahy

Once there was a tree that had a fairy godmother and an evil step-witch. The witch told the tree to grow crooked so the tree had to grow crooked. The fairy godmother came to see the tree. She told the tree to grow sweet.

A year later the witch flew down. The witch was angry and she told the tree to grow lazy-crazy. So the tree had to grow crooked and lazy-crazy.

A year later the witch flew by again. The witch saw the tree was covered in pink flowers and she told the tree to grow crinkum-crankum. So the tree had to grow crooked and lazy-crazy and crinkum-crankum.

A year later the witch flew by and saw lots of children playing in the tree. She was so angry that she just burst like a black balloon!
